Playful Ways to Find an Allergy Friendly Recipe

For non-allergic people it is a challenging task to come to an allergy friendly recipe. What ingredients can be used? And where can allergy friendly ingredients be found?
In this paper we categorize current ways, and introduce new ways, of finding an allergy friendly recipe. We are particularly interested in playful ways of finding such a recipe with as little obstacles as possible. First we explore and describe how we perceive and interpret visual representations of food. Secondly we have conducted a survey with 20 participants to find out what directs their recipe choices in daily life. Furthermore we’ve done a survey of the different approaches regarding the selection methods and categorizations of recipes used in cookbooks, magazines, websites and other allergy friendly information sources. We describe how these existing information sources can be helpful for non-allergic people when it comes to choosing an allergy friendly recipe and make them feel more free to come to a recipe they like. Finally we’re introducing alternatives for finding allergy friendly recipes based on the done surveys.
