Study trip to the Ars Electronica Festival in Austria
This year also, as part of their curriculum, all new students go on a study trip to the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria. This annual trip is co-organized with the ArtScience and Interactive Media Design programs of the Royal Academy of Arts in Den Haag. Staff of all three programs will join the students.
Other students and alumni are invited to join us!
Since 1979 Ars Electronica has been the world's most outstanding forum of electronic art. State-of-the-art works of hundreds of artists from dozens of countries are presented in a festival that consists of exhibitions, demonstrations, performances, lectures, conferences, films, outside events, meetings and parties of all kinds.
The theme of Ars Electronica Festival 2014 is "C... What it Takes to Change". What is necessary to enable social innovation and renewal to emerge and make an impact? The focus will be on art as catalyst. In-depth elaborations, lively discussions and bold provocations will feature artists, scholars and scientists from all over the world — renowned intellectuals confronted by young contrarians, top experts encountering interested laypersons, the pioneers of the Digital Revolution face to face with the shooting stars of today’s media art scene.
