Studium Generale talk: Robots that feel, create and fail
Intelligent robots are all the rage, but do emotional bots also exist? Creative bots? Or useless or helpless bots? And why should we care?
In this Studium Generale lecture Maarten Lamers and Peter van der Putten will demonstrate that robots can be more than just smart, and that we can learn from the bots about who we are as humans and animals.
The lecture will be accompanied by a public showing of Emerging Traces, an installation of drawing bots by Lise Stork, Jelger Kroese en Roland van Dierendonck, and will be followed by a concert by the Nederlands Studenten Kamerkoor (Dutch Students Chamber Choir) titled 'Emotioneel Abstract'.
Bots Like You is a companion web site where you can find examples of robots that will be featured in the talk.
