“Research by Design”, guest lecture by Roberto Rocco of TU Delft
"Research by Design, or Design by Research?"
Dr. Roberto Rocco is assistant professor at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, of Delft University of Technology (Tu Delft). He will talk about the relations between design practice, practice based research and scientific research. In particular, he will address the question of whether outcomes of design work can be considered scientific, and if so, under what conditions. There will be ample room for questions and discussion following his presentation.
This topic is of particular interest to Media Technology students, since they occassionally struggle with this distinction in their projects. All students and staff are invited to attend.
Where & When
Roberto's lecture is part of the scheduled Creative Research class of October 27, 2014 and held between 15:30 - 16:30h in room 413.
