We are looking for a Postdoc college in Machine Learning at the University of Amsterdam.

The postdoc with a strong background and interest in adaptive intelligent interactive systems will work in the project “Playful Data-driven Active Urban Living”. We want to understand how physical activity of city dwellers can be increased by using app technology for coaching. The challenging project is an international collaboration between Dutch and Brazilian research groups from São Paulo. The team consists of a PhD in game research (at Utrecht University), two researchers of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and researchers from the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). The postdoc will focus on the development of machine learning methods to obtain optimal motivational, coaching and feedback strategies.

A successful candidate must have obtained a recent PhD in artificial intelligence, computer engineering, mathematics or a similar discipline. Candidates with a PhD in biomedical engineering, medicine, psychology, or other clinical sciences will be considered if they have a demonstrated ability for technical (e.g. mathematical or computational) research. The candidate must have experience in decision making/reinforcement learning, as well as machine learning. Publication of significant research in high quality venues will be a top priority for successful candidates.
